Forest paradise..preserve them

Canopy Walkway

Taman Negara

Park headquarters at Kuala Tahan with chalets, restaurants and campgrounds is located in 4,343 square kilometers of the world's oldest rainforest.

This is one of the world's last sanctuaries to hundreds of species of flora and fauna.

It's about drifting silently down rivers on a boat with the jungle alive and vibrant around you, exploring caves, tackling 20-pound fish and an opportunity to climb Peninsular Malaysia's highest mountain. Walk through the dense forest on well-marked paths to ..........

........ swim in crystal clear pools. Look at the pebbles at the bottom. The water is tea-colored because of the huge amount of decayed vegetation that includes hundreds of herbs, this is nature's herbal brew. Get exhilarating views from tree top level on a canopy walkway 25 meters above the ground. There are well-maintained elevated hideaways near salt licks where you can watch for animals day and night.

Experience the forest paradise in comfort and safety. More information. Travel arrangement.

Mt Kinabalu Park

Mt Kinabalu is 4,101 meters above sea level. Allow for 2 to 3 days to reach the summit. Visitors who wish to climb the mountain need only to be reasonably fit for a strenuous walk and there's no need for mountaineering gear. You need to get a permit to climb the mountain and make arrangements for accommodation and transportation at least a week in advance.

The mountain is in a 754 square kilometer park where flora diversity changes from conifer forests to alpine meadow plants and then to stunted bushes in the summit zone.

Park headquarters is situated on the southern boundary at an elevation of 1,524m. Visitor accommodation, restaurants and an exhibit center are found here. It is a 2-hour drive from the town of Kota Kinabalu on a good sealed road. There are slide or film shows in the evenings and guided trail walks in the mornings conducted by naturalists at the park headquarters. Travel arrangement.
